Fishing at Chateau de Tigny
The beautiful 12 acre lake is situated in front of the Sixteenth century Bourguignon style castle. The lake has two isles and is spring fed and rich in abundance of natural food.
Winter 2008 the lake was drained and re-stocked with Common Carp up to 45lb, Mirror Carp up to 39lb and Grass Carp up to 25lb. There has been over 1 ton of Carp added into this lake. An average Carp here weighs around 25lb+.
The lake is very unusual as it offers a no snag, gravel base, with a light silt bed. Once you have hooked, the only way a fish can be lost is through the use of inferior tackle. You can play the fish in complete confidence. Your line will not get snapped up on any under water obsticles and you will need all of your skill to land these fish. As this is a new venue and the fish have never been caught before, they will put up a hard fight, which makes Chateau de Tigny the most desirable place for Carp fishing in France!
This is not a commercial French fishery. It is a holiday complex with a carp lake for pleasure fishing, full of large hard fighting fish. There is also the castle moat which extends three quarters around the castle grounds. This 8 meter wide, 400 meter long moat is stocked full of Carp and Roach. The carp range up to 14lb. Should you wish to match fish and bag up then you can do so. Both sides of the moat may be fished, giving you a different aspect each day.
The lake is for 1-4 anglers, either stay in our luxury bed and breakfast accommodation or we offer exclusive use of the lake with drive survive package. The local supermarket is a 10 min walk from the lake with all amenities catered for.
