Chateau de Tigny History

"A warm welcome, beautiful room and wonderful scenery, a weekend of total tranquility"

Mr & Mrs Long, England

Chambre dHotes

The Chateau offers two luxury suites of accommodation which are very comfortable and tastefully decorated.

The Queen Ann suite:

This is for two people and is furnished in a romantic style with a four poster bed. The room has a beautiful view of the lake and unique pigeonaire.  It has an en-suite shower room and towels and linen are also provided. There is tea/coffee making facilities and a continental breakfast is included in the price.

The Rococo suite:

This suite can sleep up to a family of four.  The suite is divided up into three separate adjoining rooms with a double Rococo style bed and two singles.  There is an option to add another fold-up bed or cot if required. The suite has an en-suite shower room and towels and linen are provided. There is also tea/coffee making facilities and continental breakfast is included in the price for two plus children under the age of 13.

Unfortunately we regret that Chateau de Tigny is unable to provide disabled access within the chateau because of its unusual stone staircase.

The Chateau

The Chateau is set in beautiful, tranquil surroundings which include a 12 acre, well stocked Carp Lake. The lake may be hired on an exclusive fishing basis if required during your stay. The medieval village of Charlieu situated close by is steeped in history with many attractions such as the Abbey Bénédictine, museums plus many bars, shops and restaurants and there is also a cinema. The village is surrounded by country lanes and woodland, ideal for walking, cycling and enjoying the fresh country air.

Many other attractions can be found in the nearby surrounding villages. There is a wide variety of choice to keep everyone happy such as canoeing/kayaking on the Loire river, horse riding, or maybe a round of golf. Whatever your interests, photography, painting, cycling or just simply relaxing and sampling the local cuisine and wine from the vineyards, I’m sure you can find it here.
