Fishing at Chateau de Tigny

The beautiful 12 acre lake is situated in front of the Sixteenth century Bourguignon style castle and can be hired on an exclusive basis to a maximum of 4/5 anglers. This will mean you have the option of having the place all to yourself and family or sharing the cost between the other anglers. There are no designated swims so you can chose where you would like to fish and because the lake is situated in front of the Chateau it is safe and secure and you can leave your rods etc. and just have a relaxing holiday.

The lake was drained and re-stocked in 2007 with Common Carp up to 45lb, Mirror Carp up to 39lb and Grass Carp up to 25lb plus some a small variety of coarse fish to keep an echo friendly environment. There has been over 1 ton of Carp added into this lake and an average Carp here weighs around 25lb+. The lake is naturally spring fed and rich in abundance with natural food so the Carp will grow rapidly over the coming years.

This idyllic lake is an oval shape with two isles. The bottom is a gravel base with a silt bed and completely snag free. So whilst winding down and sitting in the sun you can relax and take note of the nature all around you. There is plenty to see, kites, kingfisher, woodpecker and owls. On the odd occasion you may be lucky enough to see the deer in the surrounding fields. The Chateau and lake is set in rural and peaceful surroundings with the added bonus of the beautiful medieval village of Charlieu just 5 minutes away by car.  As the lake is privately owned night fishing is permitted.

We offer two options at the Chateau. Option one is the Drive & survive with excellent on site facilities and local amenities within a short 10 minute walk. If you would like to have complete relaxation then we also offer a food package of freshly prepared home cooked meals.  

The second option is a stay in the Chateau in one of its luxury suites. Gentlemen if you have ever tried to get your other half to join you on your fishing trip but failed due to the sleeping arrangements than a room in the Chateau could be your answer.
